Creativity

Throughout the school year, we will be learning how to use our imaginations and creativity to get involved in theatre. We will also be discovering the fun involved in the costumes! The TEKS states that kindergarten students should "create costumes, using simple materials." Parents, I promise you will not have to use a sewing machine! I hope you enjoy these activities!

1. What better way to open up the imagination and get the creative juices flowing than by making fun and easy puppets! Have fun and perhaps "act out" your child's favorite fables and fairy tales together!

2. Another fun activity that can really tap into your child's creativity involves making masks together! Have your child make up a name for their "character" when they put the mask on! Also, you can make up stories about the adventures the characters have!

3. For those of you that would like an alternate option for masks, print out these wonderful animal masks and have your child color it any color their hearts desire! Then make up a story involving the chosen mask and color! For example Penelope the Purple Pig! Get creative and above all have fun!
